The Crime Check Foundation, a non-governmental organization today made a donation of Twenty-Nine Thousand, Eight Hundred Ghana cedis (Ghc 29,800.00) on behalf of Miss Linda Owusu of the Netherlands to defray the medical bills of some patients at the hospital.
Mr. Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng, the Executive Director of the foundation, explained that the gesture was to assist needy patients who could not afford to pay their bills so that they could be discharged home to spend the Christmas festivities with their loved ones.
Mr. Oppong Kwarteng, together with his team paid a courtesy call on the management of the hospital during its weekly meeting. He commended the management led by Prof. Otchere Addai-Mensah, the Ag. Chief Executive Officer for the warm reception and the immense efforts to provide quality health services to the public.
Prof. Addai-Mensah expressed his gratitude towards the kind donation. He said there were a number of patients at the hospital who could not afford to pay their hospital bills due to financial difficulties for which reason the donation was very timely.
“As the only tertiary faculty in this part of the country, any failure or inability of patients to pay their bills impact adversely on the operations of the hospital as it impedes new patients’ access to beds and our ability to generate revenue to pay suppliers.
Prof. Addai-Mensah expressed the gratitude of the hospital and the beneficiary patients in particular to Miss Linda Owusu for making the donation possible through her personal coffers.
