KATH Hosts Research Grant Dissemination and Awards Presentation to Advance Medical Innovation
The Research and Development Unit, in collaboration with the KATH Research Grant Committee, held the Research Grant Dissemination and Awardees Presentation event at the Nurses Lecture Hall, Disaster Block, KATH. The event marked a significant milestone, offering previous grant winners the opportunity to present their research findings to KATH management and staff, while also unveiling the five new winners of the 2025 Research Grant.
Dr. Hephzibah Okyere-Mensah from the Public Health Unit and Dr. Priscilla Abrafi Opare-Addo from the Directorate of Medicine, who were previous grant winners, shared their findings with the KATH community. Their presentations also included insightful policy recommendations aimed at enhancing the quality of care and services at the Hospital.
Four clinical researchers and one non clinical researcher were awarded the grant, with each receiving GHC 20,000 for their innovations. The grant which has been increased by management from GHC 10,000 to GHC 20,000 also allowed expansion from two awardees to five this year.
The clinical researchers awarded the grant include Dr. Kwabena Agbedinu, Directorate of Surgery, Dr. David Akagwire, Emergency Medicine Directorate, Dr. Anita Eseenam Agbeko, Directorate of Surgery and Dr. Solomon Gyabaa, Directorate of Medicine.
Mr. Abdul Wadud Braimah, ICT Unit was the non-clinical researcher who was awarded the grant.
