Dr. (Med) Paa Kwesi Baidoo is the Chief Executive Officer of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. Prior to his appointment, he was Head of the Directorate of Trauma and Orthopaedics at KATH. He also served as Ashanti Divisional Chairman of the Ghana Medical Association.
Dr. Baidoo has nearly two decades of clinical, surgical, academic, and administrative experience. He is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the Department of Surgery, KNUST School of Medical Sciences.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from KNUST in 2002 and also obtained his MBChB degree from KNUST in 2005. He completed residency training through the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons and WACS. He is a Fellow of both the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons and WACS.
Dr. Baidoo has undertaken extensive international postgraduate training in the United States.
He trained at the Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute and Nemours Children’s Hospital. He also trained at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics. In 2024, he received the prestigious Buckle Fellowship from the Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Society and was one of only three global recipients of the Pediatric Travel Fellowship that year.
Dr. (Med) Baidoo has contributed to over 17 peer-reviewed scientific publications and has presented at major international orthopedic and trauma conferences. He serves on several professional committees within the Ghana Medical Association. He is also affiliated with OTA, AO Trauma, AO Alliance Foundation, and the Medical and Dental Council.
