The Ashanti Regional Minister Pays Inspection Visit to the Maternal and Children’s Block Project at Komfo
THE ASHANTI REGIONAL MINISTER PAYS INSPECTION VISIT TO THE MATERNAL AND CHILDREN’S BLOCK PROJECT AT KOMFO ANOKYE TEACHING HOSPITAL(KATH)
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah today paid an inspection visit to the 138 million Euros Maternal and Children’s block project currently under construction at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital(KATH). The purpose of the visit was to gauge the extent of progress on the project and to stress the need for the contractor to finish it as scheduled.
Accompanying the Regional Minister were Management members of KATH led by the Chief Executive, Dr. Oheneba Owusu-Danso.
Briefing the Minister and his team, the Project Manager of Archito Consult, the supervising consultant of the project, Mr. Emmanuel Fobi said that with the pace of work, there is every assurance that the project will be completed on schedule. He said the structural works was 70% completed.
Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah expressed satisfaction on the progress of work, adding that he has seen a remarkable improvement in the rate of construction since his last visit to the project site.
The 500 bed edifice which is the 1st phase of the project is being executed by Contracta Construction Ltd. Upon completion, it is expected to provide modern facilities and additional space for the provision of specialist Maternal & Child Health services at the hospital.
